Overview

Keratidi Beach is a secluded and unspoiled coastal spot located east of Lakki, near Frangokastello, on the southern coast of Crete. The area comprises two small sandy beaches, with the easternmost featuring a rocky seabed, making it ideal for snorkeling and spearfishing. The beach is named after a carob tree ("keratidi" in Greek) that once stood in the area, reflecting the abundance of carob trees in the surrounding region. \n\rAccess to Keratidi Beach is via a paved road leading east from Lakki, ending at a dead end. From there, a short walk down a small stream leads to the sea. The beach is known for its clear blue waters, fine sand, and the natural shade provided by nearby trees. It is a quiet spot, often frequented by naturists, and offers a peaceful retreat away from the more crowded tourist areas. Visitors should be aware that the beach is not organized, so it's advisable to bring necessary supplies, including water and sun protection. The serene environment and pristine nature make Keratidi Beach a perfect destination for those seeking tranquility and a connection with nature.
