Toplou Monastery, founded in the 14th century, is a significant Greek Orthodox monastery located in northeastern Crete, between Sitia and the Palm Forest of Vai. Enclosed by 10-meter-high walls, it houses remarkable frescoes, a collection of Byzantine icons, and a museum featuring copperplate engravings. The monastery also produces and exports wine and olive oil
